Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Acupuncturist

Dr. Chanta Sloma is a licensed acupuncturist and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a distinguished career in both clinical services and healthcare administration. With over 15 years of experience, she has worked to elevate the standards of acupuncture practice and integrate it into mainstream healthcare.

As an undergraduate at UW-Madison, she was drawn to the organic cultivation of medicinal herbs. However, her time living in Thailand and South Korea led her to discover the transformative power of Traditional Chinese Medicine and shifted the course of her career.

One of the pioneers of acupuncture on the Door County Peninsula, Dr. Sloma founded New Leaf Acupuncture in Fish Creek, where she helped introduce the benefits of acupuncture to her hometown community. Leadership Door County nominated her for the 2014 Leader Among Us award in recognition of increasing the visibility and clinical use of acupuncture as a viable form of integrative health care.

Dr. Sloma was the first acupuncturist to serve on the American Medical Association’s Health Care Professional Advisory Committee, and she played the lead role in a successful CPT code change application on behalf of the American Society of Acupuncturists. In addition, she edited the Oriental Medicine board exam textbooks for Dr. HB Kim, including the Handbook of Oriental Medicine, further contributing to the professional development of acupuncturists nationwide.

She also served on the Wisconsin Society of Certified Acupuncturists’ Educational Committee, where a lasting connection was developed with Elizabeth Eberius, LAc, founder of Orthopedic Alternatives Medical Acupuncture.

Dr. Sloma's goal is to provide the highest quality care, helping patients navigate the complexities of the healthcare system while integrating the benefits of traditional Chinese medicine.
